Advance Practice Consultant

An Advanced Practice Nurse Practice Consultant (AP NPC) investigates both alleged nurse practice and non-nurse practice violations of the Nurse Practice Act, and recommends appropriate disciplinary action to the Board. The AP NPC will investigate complex or sensitive allegations of legal or regulatory violations; interviews and collects evidence; examines and analyzes records and files; reviews and detects improprieties; determines and selects pertinent information and records for support of investigation; determines if a violation has occurred and recommends actions; researches and obtains investigative evidence and composes detailed investigative reports. Prepares cases for administrative review/action, prepares consent agreements for use in administrative proceedings. Presents cases at Board Meetings and testifies in administrative hearings as official witness. This position investigates all suspected violations of the Nurse Practice Act received about individual licensees, applicants, or certificate holders of all levels.
